Scheduled Inspections
Visual Inspection: Daily or pre-start walk-around checks for seal damage, grease leaks, or visible cracks in the bearing structure.
Axial Clearance Check: Periodically measure the axial lurch or play of the upper structure according to the service manual specifications. Excessive clearance indicates wear and may require adjustment or bearing replacement.
Bolt Torque Check: This is crucial on a large machine. Re-torque the slewing bearing mounting bolts at the intervals specified in the manual (e.g., every 1000 hours) using a calibrated torque wrench and the correct sequence.
