Verification of Dimensions (Interference Fit):
Bushings are installed with an interference fit, meaning the bushing's OD is slightly larger than the housing's ID. This creates a tight, secure hold.
Measure both the new bushing's OD and the housing's ID to ensure they match Caterpillar's specifications. A proper interference fit is typically between 0.05mm to 0.15mm, depending on the size.
Lubrication and Alignment:
Apply a light film of grease to the housing bore and the outside diameter of the new bushing. This aids in pressing and helps prevent corrosion.
Ensure the lubrication holes (grease grooves) in the bushing are perfectly aligned with the grease zerks (fitting) on the linkage.
This 504-7629 bushing is used for 3330GC excavator.
