Gland Head (Rod End): This is the end cap where the rod exits the cylinder. It houses several critical components:
Rod Seal: The primary high-pressure dynamic seal that prevents hydraulic fluid from leaking out along the rod.
Wiper Seal (Scraper): A vital seal that scrapes dirt, mud, and other contaminants off the rod as it retracts, preventing them from entering the cylinder and damaging the rod seal and the barrel.
Bearing Band / Wear Band: Provides a low-friction bearing surface for the rod, guiding it and preventing metal-to-metal contact with the gland.
