Installation of the New Bearing:
Handling: Never lift the slewing bearing by its cables or hoses (if it has an internal grease line). Use soft slings or lifting brackets provided on the bearing itself.
Orientation: Ensure the bearing is oriented correctly. The internal gear must properly align with the swing pinion gear. The mounting holes must align with the bolt holes on the undercarriage.
Lubrication: Pack the raceway with the specified type and amount of grease (typically a high-quality, extreme-pressure lithium-based grease) as per the Caterpillar operator's manual.
Lowering: Carefully lower the slewing bearing onto the clean mounting surface of the undercarriage.
