Rough, Noisy, or Jerky Rotation (Grinding, Clicking, Popping)
Causes:
Insufficient or Contaminated Lubrication (Primary Cause): A lack of grease leads to metal-on-metal contact. Abrasive contaminants like sand or metal particles act like lapping compound, rapidly grinding away the hardened raceways.
Raceway Damage: This includes spalling (flaking of the surface metal) and brinelling (indentations on the raceways). On the 345D, this is often a result of shock loads.
Damaged Rolling Elements: Chipped or cracked balls or rollers cause vibration and noise.
This 227-6037 slewing bearing is used for 345D excavator.
