Cause: This appears as indentations on the raceways, aligned with the spacing of the rolling elements. It is often caused by:
Shock Loads: Dropping heavy loads suddenly or using the excavator's momentum for heavy impact.
Improper Transportation: Failing to lock the swing mechanism during transport allows the bearing to bounce and shock the raceways.
Long-term Static Storage: Leaving the machine parked in one position for extended periods can allow false brinelling (fretting corrosion) to occur due to micro-vibrations.
