Pressurized Cap:
The system is sealed with a pressurized cap. Raising the pressure inside the cooling system raises the boiling point of the coolant, allowing the engine to run at more efficient temperatures without the coolant boiling away.
Maintenance and Serviceability:
Designed for relative ease of access for cleaning. On the 315D, the entire radiator bundle (and the hydraulic oil cooler behind it) swings upwards on a hinge after loosening a few latches. This provides excellent access for cleaning debris from the core's exterior.
External fins are delicate and can be easily damaged. Regular cleaning with compressed air or water (from the inside out) is essential to maintain cooling efficiency.
