Periodic Inspection and Measurement:

Check for Wear: Periodically, measure pin and bushing wear. The standard method is to check for "pin play" or free movement.
Use a pry bar to gently try to move the linkage. There should be no noticeable radial (up-and-down) movement between the pin and its bushing.
Excessive play indicates that both the pin and bushing are worn and need replacement as a set.

Inspect Seals: Damaged or missing seals allow dirt to enter and grease to escape, leading to rapid wear. Replace damaged seals immediately.
