Regular Inspection:
Visual Inspection: Look for signs of grease leakage, damaged seals, or rust streaks, which can indicate a lack of lubrication.
Play Check: Regularly check for excessive clearance or "play" in the joints.
Have an operator move the stick and bucket through its range of motion while you watch the pin joints.
Use a pry bar to check for movement between the pin and bushing. Any significant visible movement indicates the bushing and likely the pin are worn and need replacement.
Measure Wear: During scheduled maintenance, use calipers to measure the internal diameter (ID) of the bushing and the diameter of the pin. Compare these measurements to the service manual's wear limits.
This 517-5958 bushing is used for 349 352 excavator.
