Preventative Maintenance (Every 1,000 Hours)
Grease the Mounting Pins: The pins that connect the cylinder to the linkage and bucket are under extreme stress.
Use the recommended Cat grease (e.g., Advanced Lithium Complex Grease).
Apply grease until fresh, clean grease is purged from the ends of the pins, pushing out old, contaminated grease and abrasive dirt.
Pro Tip: Grease the pins with the hydraulic pressure off. If possible, have another operator gently curl and uncurl the bucket slightly to work the grease evenly around the entire bushing surface. This prevents "brinelling" and ensures proper lubrication.
