Daily/Pre-Shift Maintenance (Operator's Responsibility)
Visual Inspection for Leaks: Check the entire cylinder, especially the rod seal area at the gland, for any signs of hydraulic oil leakage. Even a slight seep can indicate a seal beginning to fail.
Piston Rod Inspection: This is the most crucial daily task. Examine the entire exposed length of the chrome piston rod for scratches, nicks, pitting, or corrosion. A damaged rod will destroy the rod seal upon retraction, leading to a major leak and costly downtime.
