Preparation and Removal of the Old Harness:
Gain access to the engine by opening the rear enclosure or hood.
Documentation is Paramount: Take extensive, high-resolution photographs of the entire old harness routing and every single connection.
Label Every Connector: Use tape and a marker to label each connector and its location (e.g., "Crankshaft Sensor," "#3 Injector," "Front of ECM"). This is the most critical step for a successful re-assembly.
Systematically disconnect the old harness in this order:
Main plugs from the Engine ECM.
All sensors (temperature, pressure, speed).
