Preparation and Removal of the Old Harness:
* Documentation: Take extensive, high-quality photographs of the entire console area, noting the routing of the existing harness and the connection points of every connector. Label connectors with tape if necessary.
* Access: Remove the console access panels, covers, and likely the entire operator's seat and console assembly to gain safe and clear access to the harness. This is a major step and requires care to not damage other components.
* Disconnection: Using the schematic, systematically disconnect the harness from all components:
* Implement ECM (located in the machine's electrical cabinet).
* Joystick controllers.
* All switches and thumbwheels on the console panels.
* Grounding studs and power connection points.
* Any intermediate connectors or splices.
* Removal: Carefully remove the old harness by cutting all cable ties and freeing it from its clamps and routing channels. Note how it is secured to avoid sharp edges and to ensure proper strain relief.
