Command: The operator turns the steering wheel.
Signal Generation: The steering orbital unit transforms the rotary motion into a flow of low-pressure pilot oil. This oil sends a signal to the main steering control valve.
Actuation: The control valve shifts and directs high-pressure oil from the main hydraulic pump to one port of the steering cylinder (e.g., the rod end port).
Movement: The pressurized oil pushes against the piston, creating a linear force. The rod is forced to retract.
Articulation: As the cylinder retracts, it pulls the front and rear frames together on one side, forcing them to pivot around the central pin. The machine turns.
Return Flow: Simultaneously, oil from the opposite side (head end) of the piston is pushed out through the other hydraulic port and returned to the hydraulic tank via the control valve.
Reversal: To steer in the opposite direction, the process is reversed; high-pressure oil is sent to the head end port, causing the rod to extend.
This 173-9477 steering cylinder is used for R2900 R2900G R3000H load haul dump.
