Extreme Duty Construction:
Heavy-Wall Barrel: Constructed from high-strength steel tubing to withstand constant high operating pressures (typically over 2500 psi / 172 bar) and shock loads from rough terrain.
High-Strength Piston Rod: Made from hardened, high-tensile carbon steel. It features a thick, hard-chromed surface that is polished to a fine finish. This is essential for resisting corrosion, abrasion from mine debris, and physical damage from impacts.
Robust Sealing System:
High-Pressure Seals: Multi-component seal packages are used on the piston and rod. They are designed to contain extreme internal pressure without extruding, ensuring consistent performance and preventing leaks.
Advanced Contaminant Exclusion: A critical feature. A heavy-duty, multi-lipped wiper seal is installed at the rod end to aggressively scrape mud, dust, and moisture from the rod as it retracts, preventing these abrasives from entering the cylinder and damaging seals and the internal surface.
Rod Scraper: Further protects the internal components from external contamination.
This 252-5872 steering cylinder is used for AD22 underground art truck.
