Steel-Backed Bronze (Sintered Bronze):
Construction: A solid steel outer shell for strength and rigidity, lined with a layer of porous bronze.
Lubrication: The porous bronze is impregnated with a lubricant (usually oil). As the joint operates and heats up, the oil seeps out to provide continuous lubrication, reducing friction and wear.
Application: Very common in pivot shafts and loader arm joints.
