Replacement Process:
Safety First: Lower the work equipment to the ground, shut off the engine, and release all hydraulic pressure.
Disassembly: Remove the retaining hardware (e.g., snap rings, bolts) and press out the pin using a hydraulic press or suitable tools. Never use a hammer, as this can damage the components and is unsafe.
Bushing Removal: Use a specialized bushing removal tool or a hydraulic press with the correct-sized mandrels to press the old bushing out.
Cleaning and Inspection: Thoroughly clean the housing bore. Inspect the new pin and the housing for any damage or burrs. Replace pins if they show significant wear or scoring.
Bushing Installation: Press the new, properly lubricated bushing into place, ensuring it is aligned correctly and seated fully. The grease holes must align perfectly with the lubrication channels in the linkage.
Reassembly: Install the new pin (if required), apply grease, and reassemble the linkage with new seals and retaining hardware.
This 287-3358 bushing is used for 349D excavator.
