Material Control: This is the cylinder's primary purpose. By tipping the blade, the operator can precisely control how material is gathered, spread, or mixed.
Tip Forward (Digging In): When the top of the blade is tipped forward, the cutting edge bites more aggressively into the material. This is used for heavy cutting, ripping up hardpack, or beginning a new cut.
Tip Back (Spreading): When the top of the blade is tipped backward, the cutting edge becomes less aggressive. This is used for fine-grading, feathering material, final spreading, and achieving a smooth finish. It prevents the blade from digging in too deeply.
