Double-Acting Design: The sideshift cylinder is double-acting, meaning hydraulic pressure can be applied to either side of the piston to extend or retract the rod with power and control. This allows the operator to shift the blade in either direction with equal force.
Integration with Hydraulic System: The cylinder is controlled by a dedicated spool in the grader's main hydraulic control valve. Operator input from the lever is transmitted mechanically (via linkage) or hydraulically (via pilot pressure) to this valve, which then directs oil flow to the cylinder. This provides proportional control—the more the lever is moved, the faster the cylinder moves.
