Operator Input:
The operator moves the steering joystick (or turns a steering wheel, depending on configuration).
This movement is not a mechanical linkage but an electronic signal sent to the machine's control computers.
Electronic Control:
The grader's Electronic Control Module (ECM) receives the signal, interprets the desired direction and speed of articulation, and calculates the required oil flow.
The ECM sends a command to the electro-hydraulic control valve (a proportional solenoid valve) dedicated to the steering function.
This 270-8686 steering cylinder is used for 24M motor grader.
