Mechanical Input: When the operator depresses the brake pedal, a pushrod connected to the pedal is forced into the bore of the master cylinder.
Piston Movement and Pressure Creation: This pushrod drives the primary piston assembly inside the cylinder forward. As the piston moves, primary and secondary cups (seals) block off the fluid reservoir port and begin to compress the hydraulic brake fluid trapped in front of them.
Hydraulic Pressure Generation: The incompressible nature of the brake fluid means the mechanical force is instantly transformed into high hydraulic pressure within the sealed chamber.
