Pilot-Operated Check Valves (Holding Valves): This is a critical safety feature. These valves are mounted directly on the cylinder's ports. They act as a hydraulic lock, mechanically trapping oil in the cylinder. This prevents the blade from accidentally tilting (which could be extremely dangerous) in the event of a hydraulic hose failure or a leak in the control valve. They only open when pilot pressure from the control valve is applied, allowing the cylinder to move.
Drift Reduction Valve: Some systems may include an integral drift reduction valve on the piston. This valve restricts flow internally if a hose fails, allowing the blade to settle slowly and controllably rather than dropping suddenly.
This 151-5171 tilt cylinder is used for 834H 834G wheel dozer.
